'Oak'

Title:  'Oak' Description:  A pair of sliding glass doors and glass partitions divide the living space in this private commission. The glass measures 2.5m(H) x 3.5m(W). This is an all glass structure, which is fitted into a Dorma sliding track system. The decoration takes the form of three types of acid etching.
Client:  Private residence, Surrey, England
Architect:  Deborah Parker Architects

This private residence overlooks an oak tree. This ancient tree is central to the work. My client wanted to make a connection between the house and its natural surroundings. Consequently oak leaves, bark, timber and acorns are referenced in the design. These images are transformed anamorphically and subordinated to a clean geometric structure that is consistent with the Modernist interior design.
